Heavy vehicle drivers can help make their industry safer
A large Australian heavy vehicle study is now underway in NSW, WA and QLD.
Researchers will be interviewing drivers at various truck stops in these states. Every driver who contributes 30 minutes of their time will assist in making the industry safer.
Interviewers are looking to recruit long distance heavy vehicle drivers who:
- undertake trips of 200km or more (from operating base); and
- who drive vehicles that are 12 tonnes or over (GMV).
Drivers will be approached by interviewers at designated truck stops. The 30 minute survey covers questions about their driving schedule for the previous three days, questions about their truck and the load they are carrying, their sleep patterns and their health in general.
All information is kept strictly confidential and drivers will be paid for their time.
