An excellent career opportunity exists for the role of Executive Director, The George Institute India. The George Institute has been conducting research and related activities in India since 2002, with a separate wholly owned legal entity established in Hyderabad in 2007. The George Institute India’s mission mirrors that of the global organization, namely the discovery and implementation of solutions to chronic and disabling health problems through research, policy development and capacity building.  

As a member of the Global Management Team, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall strategic development of the organisation, operational and budget management, people leadership and development, including post-graduate teaching and supervision, the continued development of a high-quality research and development facility and network, overseeing the design of large-scale studies and revenue generating initiatives. Essential to this role is your talent to engage with global health stakeholders to enact real change and initiate best practice research and development activities.

To succeed in this role you will have Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant health related discipline, and:

  • Substantial international experience in health research and development activities
  • A proven track record in the health or academic sectors at a senior management level
  • Demonstrated people leadership and development experience
  • Flexibility and adaptability to drive successful change in a dynamic environment
  • Solid financial management, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Availability and willingness to travel
